I had the honor (and a lot of fun too) of photographing Nimish Patel for his campaign. On July 18, 2010 he is going to announce his intent to run for the School Board of Education for the Santa Monica and Malibu Unified School District. Have not heard of Firefly Events yet? Well you are so missing out! I found them while planning my sister’s bachelorette party and they are amazing! Not only do they have so many wonderful already pre-packaged choices for your and your guys or gals (depending on whether you are planning a bachelor or bachelorette party), but you can custom create your own party as well. Firefly handles everything for you so all you have to do is just show up! It makes everything so much easier and I highly recommend them. They are also listed up in my links section too.

Extraordinary Women: Dec. 2009

A bit behind in blogging this, but I had the pleasure of photographing Sharon Perry of the The Canyon Salon for the cover and editorial of Extraordinary Women Magazine. The House of Hope: Haiti

Recently, there has been a lot written and spoken about regarding the tragedy that has taken place in Haiti. In the past few months (prior to and after) I have met a wonderful woman name Alisha, who was visiting Haiti and left the Sunday before the earthquake hit. She has told me of her experience there and a small orphanage that she is in the process of making a legitimate orphanage (House of Hope) that within the next year will have a child sponsor program running. These children were suffering before the earthquake, I cannot imagine how much harder it is now. All of them were taken in by 1 woman after a disease wiped out these children’s families. Right now, there are 42 children and just $4.50 will feed all of them for one day! I am posting about this because it is close to my heart. The suffering of children is the worst kind and they need all kinds of supplies. I am asking for donations (items needed are listed below). You can bring them to Bella Rosa Photography (please call or email for the address) or I can put you directly in contact with Alisha Michaelson. When Alisha returns to Haiti in March, she will be bringing the supplies with her and speaking with a pastor in Port Au Prince who’s sister runs 3 orphanages. She will be getting in contact with these orphanages and working on a sponsorship program for these facilities as well. All items donated will go directly to these orphanages, specifically, House of Hope.

If you want to make a cash or check donation, those can be made out to and sent to Crossroads Community Church 2804 Avenue Stanford, Valencia, CA 91355. Please write H-11 in the memo or to Caribbean Vision Ministries, PO Box 18317, Panama City Beach, Fl. 32417. Write Haiti Relief in the memo.

100% of everything donated, cash or items will go directly to Haiti and are tax deductible. The truck will be shipped to Cap Haitien and then driven to Port Au Prince to deliver much needed relief supplies to those in the Delmas area of the city.
